C Jere Carnival sculpture

I came across this wall sculpture today.  It really made me smile.  Reminded me of childhood days when I went to a local carnival and shoot water into a clown's mouth by squirting a water gun and tossing balls into marked bowls, etc.  I find these kind of Americana things very sweet and child like.  I guess seems like the world have changed so much these days that it's nice to see something that reminds me of the time when I grew up in the suburb of San Francisco.

Louis Vuitton Backpack

I came across this backpack few days ago while surfing on the net.  I can't remember the last time I wore a backpack.  I mean who wears a backpack these days?  Unless you are going hiking or something.  The detail on this backpack is like no other.  It's really well made.  I'm a total sucker for shinny buckles!  LOL.  But I absolutely love the pop of orange everywhere!  So chic!  And the yellow/orange core is just a perfect amount splash of colors to make this backpack stand out in the crowd.  Apparently it's limited edition and only sold in stores.

Thom Browne safety pin oxford shirt

Remember Elizabeth Hurley's Versace safety pin dress?  Well, decades later, Thom Browne came out with a safety pin oxford shirt.  It's not your grandpa's white oxford shirt for sure.  Frankly speaking it's a bit ridiculous looking but at the same time, kinda memorizing.   I mean I certainly never seen anything like it in any men's department stores before.  I think it's cool and fresh.  At least it makes me think twice about what makes a shirt unique.  I have many white shirts over the years but if I ever get my hands on this one, I'll definitely remember it for life.  The sad part of this shirt is that once you wear it to a party, you can't really wear it again because everyone will remember you wearing that shirt!  But then again, if you have many groups of friends, I guess you can wear it multiple times.  Still, it's one expensive oxford if you ask me.  You can purchase it at Barney's New York.

Christian Liaigre Chantecaille Floor Lamp

Well, Christian Liaigre can do no wrong.  Everything he designed is just so perfect.  Take for example, the Chantecaille Floor Lamp.  The form is so pared down yet somehow it looks luxurious and the proportion is just spot on.  One of my client is getting one for their living room.  They don't know this yet but they will know soon!  :-)  Can't wait to see it in the spot that I have in my mind.

For those of you who never heard of Christian Liaigre, he's a French designer that shot to fame in the US because he did the Mercer Hotel in Soho in 1998.  According to NY Times, "the low, starkly elegant wenge-wood furniture that Mr. Liaigre designed for the lobby and rooms became a touchstone for minimalist décor. It also made him a household name — at least in 1 percent of houses." Since then, he opened furniture showrooms in NYC and Miami.  His clientele has included Rupert Murdoch, Larry Gagosian, and Karl Lagerfeld.

Georg Jensen Forma Cheese Knives

If you like entertaining as much as I do, then you know it's hard to find a good looking cheese knives out there.  After searching high and low for cheese knives that I think is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, I finally found them:  Georg Jensen Forma Cheese Knives.  I love the shape of the knives; kinda remind me of Zaha Hadid's buildings: fluid, sleek, and sexy.  Now when is the last time you pick up your cheese knives and think wow, this is a well designed object?  These knives are available at Barney's New York and Georg Jensen.

Kate Spade iPad Sleeve Giveaway

Sorry I have not updated my blog for awhile.  Sometimes my life is just too busy for me to juggle multiple design projects, spend time with love ones, and try to keep this blog going.  Funny thing is now I have a cold and everything more or less came to a stop since it's kinda hard to be creative while water dripping out of my eyes, I actually have a time to post a blog!  LOL.  Anyway, was going to have a giveaway last month but time flew by, now we are in March!  But I guess it's better late than never wouldn't you say?  This sleeve is for an iPad but frankly speaking, I think it'll probably work for Samsung Galaxy, Nook, etc.  As long as your tablet is smaller than iPad.  I like the message printed on the sleeve: Live Colorfully.  I know I try to and hopefully you do too.  :-)
